Company Overview

History

Capital Assets Limited was incorporated on 28th December, 1995 as a private limited liability company to provide specialized financial and investment advisory services to corporate clients, governments and individuals. The company commenced full operations in May 1998. Capital Assets Limited is a Dealing Member of The Nigerian Stock Exchange and is duly registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) as an issuing house, fund manager and broker/dealer. The Company is also authorized to deal in Treasury Bills by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Capital Assets Limited has served on the National Council of The Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Objective

The principal objective of the Company is to provide specialized Financial, Investment and Management Advisory and Intermediary services designed to assist clients in identifying and taking advantage of existing and new opportunities in the Financial Market.

Share Capital

The Company’s Authorized Share Capital is N250,000,000. However, the Company’s Shareholders funds is far in excess of N1 Billion. Arrangements have reached advanced stage to increase the Authorised, Issued and Fully Paid Share Capital to N2 Billion.

Board of Directors

Chief E. A. O. Adetunji – Chairman

Chief Adetunji is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Institute of Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Secretaries and the Chartered Institute of Taxation. He was formerly the Managing Director/CEO of UNIC Insurance PLC. He has also served as the Executive Consultant/CEO of BAICO Insurance PLC. He is currently the Managing Partner of Adewuyi Adetunji & Co., a firm of Chartered Accountants. Chief Adetunji is also on the Board of several Companies in Nigeria.

Mr. M.A. Olushekun – Vice Chairman

Mr. Olushekun is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and the Institute of Directors. He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and The Nigerian Institute of Management. He is an Authorized Dealing Clerk of The Nigerian Stock Exchange and is duly registered by the Securities & Exchange Commission. He holds MBA (Marketing) from the University of Lagos as well as HND (Upper Credit) in Accountancy from Yaba College of Technology. He is also an Alumnus of the Advance Management Program (AMP) of IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain.

Mr. Olushekun is a past of president and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He has served on the National Council of The Nigerian Stock Exchange and was also a Director of NSE Consult Limited, a subsidiary of The Nigerian Stock Exchange. He is currently serving on the Boards of Central Securities Clearing System Plc, NASD Plc - the Over-The-Counter Trading Platform of the Nigerian Capital Market, Unity Registrars Limited, Co-Link Investment Management Limited and Applied Logic Limited, operators of BroadStreetLagos.com, a Stockmarket Research Portal. He was a member of the Business Support Group established by the Federal Government of Nigeria for the Nigerian Vision 2020 Project as well as the Federal Government Capital Market Resuscitation Committee. He recently served as the Chairman of Capital Market Literacy Master Plan Committee and is currently a member of the Capital Market Master Plan Implementation Council (CAMMIC) of the Securities & Exchange Commission. He has also served as the Director of Administration as well as the Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria.

Mr. Victor Odozi

Mr. Odozi, a former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, holds BSc. Economics Degree from the University of Ibadan. He is the Chairman, Board of Directors of UBA Pensions Custodian Limited and Excel Professional Services Limited. He was a Non-Executive Director, UBA Plc 1999 to 2005, Chairman, Audit Committee, African Export-Import Bank (September 1997 to June 1999) and many others. He recently joined the Board of Skye Bank Plc as an Independent Non-executive Director. Mr. Odozi, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the Institute of Credit Administration has been involved in financial sector consulting.

Dr. Samaila M. Kewa

Dr. Samaila M. Kewa holds PhD in Economics, SUNY Binghamton University, MA Economics, University of Manchester, BSc Economics, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He started his career as a Lecturer at University of Jos before joining Plateau State Government as Commissioner for Finance and later the Commissioner for Education and member of the State Council. Dr. Kewa joined National Oil and Chemical PLC as Executive Director, Chemicals Marketing before he joined Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation as an Executive Director Services, IDSL Benin and later seconded to Nigerian LNG Limited as the Deputy Managing Director and back to NNPC until his retirement in 2006.

Mrs. E. B. Awosika

Mrs Ebunoluwa Awosika is an Associate Partner in the highly reputed law firm of Ajumogobia & Okeke (“A & O”). Prior to joining A & O she has worked in the Investment banking and finance sector as well as top law firms in Nigeria (such as F.O Akinrele & Co and Templars, where she was a founding partner in the nineties), gaining a wide and varied experience in transactions in the oil and gas field, infrastructure financing, corporate restructuring, acquisitions and amalgamations, joint ventures and public private partnerships. She was part of the Capital Markets Group at a leading Investment bank in the early nineties. She was the Ag. Company Secretary/Legal Adviser at one of Nigeria’s leading Investment bank’s Investment Banking & Trust Company now StanbicIbtc at the time it raised N15 billion (Fifteen Billion Naira) for Lagos State Government through a Redeemable Bond Issue in 2002.

She is currently a key member of the Corporate Practice Group at A & O and is the head of the Media and Entertainment Law Practice Group. In her former capacity and at present, she has been responsible for resolving a myriad of legal issues affecting private and public companies relating to investments and divestments in general and many other related transactions of a commercial nature on behalf of local and foreign clients.

Mrs B. O. Olushekun

Mrs Olushekun graduated from the University of Jos with a Second Class (Upper Division) Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lagos. She had 10 years experience with a Banking Institution before joining the Lagos State Civil Service where she is currently a Management Staff. Mrs Olushekun has attended various local and international courses in Management and Administration.

Mr. M.A. Olushekun – Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Olushekun is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and the Institute of Directors. Mr. Olushekun has about 29 years experience of active participation in various aspects of Investment Banking eleven out of which were spent at Centre-Point Bank Plc. He left Centre-Point in 1998 to establish and manage Capital Assets Limited, a leading Investment Banking outfit in Nigeria. He has packaged several financing arrangements for corporate bodies and governments at federal, state and local levels. In conjunction with others, he facilitated the establishment of the Nigerian chapter of The Investment Club Network (TICN), a worldwide organization with representation in 30 countries.

Mr. Kissinger Ugochukwu Ndubuisi – Corporate Finance Division

Kissinger is a graduate of Banking and Finance from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He bagged an MSc. Finance from the University of Calabar, and a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos. He is an Associate Member of both the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He is also an Authorized Dealing Clerk on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. He is a seasoned investment banker who began his career with First Bank Plc where he did his NYSC in 1999. He joined Gulf Bank of Nigeria Plc in 2001 where he garnered experience in the field of private banking and corporate banking. He worked in the Corporate Finance division of Resort Securities & Trust Limited from 2002 to 2004 before he joined Intercontinental Capital Markets Limited in 2004 where he was appointed Head, Mutual Funds Group which was the Fund Manager to the Intercontinental Integrity Fund and Head, Capital Markets Group. He was involved in the execution of various capital market mandates such as Public Offers, Private Placements, Mergers & Acquisitions, Takeovers, Restructurings, Placings, etc. He has attended several courses locally and abroad, among which are Financial Strategy of the Firm at the Lagos Business School, Corporate Finance at the Financial Institutions Training Centre and the International Housing Finance program and securitization program by the Wharton University of Pennsylvania USA.

Mr Musa Dawuud Zubayr – Advisory Services

Mr Musa is a Professional Banker, Accountant, Stockbroker and Information Security Auditor. He has competence in business strategy, financial planning, banking operations, human resource development, credit management and portfolio management. Prior to joining Capital Assets, he worked for several years at a discount house. Mr Musa also worked for 10 years in the banking industry during which time he was a credit and marketing operations staff and also a fulltime instructional staff at the training centre of a major commercial bank.

Mr. Adekanmbi Moruf Ayanniyi – Accounts

Adekanmbi Moruf Ayanniyi is an associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He holds HND in Accounting from Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke. He joined Standard Trust of Nigeria now United Bank for Africa in 2005, where he worked as Internal Control Officer before joining Chartwell Securities Limited in 2008 where he worked as the Head of Accounts and Finance until July 2013. He joined Capital Assets Limited in August 2013 as the Head of Accounts and Finance.

Ms. Elizabeth Anene Okolo – Human Resources

Ms. Okolo holds Higher National Diploma (HND) from Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Calabar. She worked for over 12 years as the Personal Assistant to the General Manager (Investment Banking) before joining the main stream banking as an investment banker of Centre-Point Bank Plc before joining Capital Assets Limited. Her responsibilities cover Human Resources and Corporate Affairs.
